What Nobody Tells You About Your Vagus Nerve

For more than 15 years, I've been working with our three-dimensional breathing, our 3Dbreath.

I've had many teachers and some very important mentors who have inspired and motivated me to develop my own understanding of how we work with our breath.

One of the most important insights I've gained over all these years is a deeper understanding of how the vagus nerve actually functions.

And I don't mean just in theory, or simply knowing how to perform the right exercises. I mean understanding something much more fundamental: the importance of creating a free and functional environment for the vagus nerve.

There is a very simple principle: When a nerve is unable to slide and move freely within the surrounding tissues, its function may be affected.

Think of it almost like an electrical cord. If it's damaged, it may not work properly. In some ways, we can use this analogy to understand the vagus nerve.

That's why such an important part of my work with the vagus nerve focuses on mobility - creating the conditions that allow it to move freely.

And it's not just about the vagus nerve itself. It's about the environment surrounding it.

It's not only about your breathing. It's much more complex than that.

Essentially, we need to support an environment around the vagus nerve that is free, flexible, and able to move rhythmically with the body.

That's why working on your mobility is so important. It's about creating better conditions for the vagus nerve to function.

We need to work with the surrounding tissues — improving their mobility, releasing tension, and allowing greater freedom of movement.

And these changes can begin to happen in the very moment you work with your body.
