The Z-Vibe is a vibrating oral-motor tool used to promote tactile stimulation and sensory awareness in the lips, tongue, gums, cheeks, and jaw. It can also help build oral tone and improve a variety of speech, feeding, and sensory skills.
Use it to provide a varied sensory experience and/or to deliver targeted tactile cues. Its gentle vibration offers a new level of sensory stimulation, helping to increase focus and draw greater attention to the area being treated. Vibration can also be very calming and stimulating to the brain.
The Z-Vibe can be a very useful tool in breathwork, helping to regulate the nervous system and promote a more parasympathetic state. It can also be used to stimulate the tongue, lips, and cheeks, supporting better oral motor function and nasal breathing.
Another potential application is working on integrating the rooting reflex, one of several primitive reflexes that should no longer be dominant in older children, teenagers, or adults. When this reflex remains active, it may contribute to difficulties keeping the mouth closed, particularly during sleep.
To turn the device on, simply twist the switch tip at the end of the handle until the device begins to vibrate (do not overtighten).
